https://youtu.be/HIKIFrY2QyM

Title: Commentary on Genesis (151) Two reasons why Joseph's dream came true (Genesis 40:1~23)_2021-07-015 (Thursday)
https://youtu.be/HIKIFrY2QyM
1. What is a dream?
Dreams are used as channels of revelation to communicate God's will to both Gentiles (unbelievers) and God's people (believers). According to the Bible, the dreams that Pharaoh of Egypt had or the dreams of Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon correspond to the dreams of the Gentiles, and the dreams that Joseph and Daniel had dreamed correspond to the dreams of God's people. The surprising fact is that these dreams recorded in the Bible have actually come true. Because those dreams were made by God. Therefore, even today, if we can properly interpret revelatory dreams, we will know that dreams are also a kind of prophecy.
2. How did the dream develop for Joseph?
Joseph's life can actually be defined as a life where dreams come true. In particular, it can be seen that Joseph's life unfolded in three stages of a dream. The first stage is the stage of the beginning that he had dreamed of. When Joseph was 17 years old, he had two revelatory dreams. In one dream, he had his brothers' sheaves bow down to his own, and in another dream, the sun, moon, and stars bowed down to him. But because of this dream, he was envy, jealous, and hated by his brothers and sold into slavery in Egypt. And he became a servant to Potiphar's house in Egypt, but he was put in prison for the conspiracy of his master's wife. In a word, it is a stage where you are having difficulties because of your dreams. And the second stage is the stage that lays the foundation for success by interpreting the middle manager's dream, that is, the intermediate stage. This interprets the dreams of the chief cupbearer and the chief breadwinner, who were Pharaoh's servants, and this gives Joseph a foothold to advance into the future prime minister of Pharaoh. And as the last step, it is the step to success by interpreting the CEO's dream. Joseph had to interpret Pharaoh's dream at the recommendation of the cupbearer, and the king who heard it recognized him as the most intelligent and wise, indicating the stage in which Joseph became prime minister in Egypt, the world's greatest empire. In a word, it can be said to be the stage of bearing fruit, that is, the stage of conclusion. That's right. Everything has a beginning, a process, and an end. Neither one can be neglected, and the conclusion would not have appeared if there had been no beginning, and an intermediate stage was also necessary to reach the stage of conclusion.
3. From the point of view of this world, what is essential for a person to succeed in what field?
From the point of view of this world, a person needs two things to be successful. One is 'attitude'. Because the attitudes of successful people are markedly different from those of unsuccessful people. One of the most important parts of it is a matter of attitude. Take the case of Joseph. Joseph was taken as a slave and sold to Egypt (Originally: Kidnapped, but kidnapped), but his attitude did not look like that of a reluctant servant. Because he was sincere in all things and was faithful to the task entrusted to him. And Joseph was thrown into prison, but even there he didn't look like a prisoner. Because Joseph was faithful even in prison and was not distracted. And the other is 'ability'. In other words, it is a matter of professionalism. To be successful, a person must be able to be the best in his or her field. It means you have to be professional. When someone wants to ask someone a certain problem, the person that immediately comes to mind is an “expert”. If so, who among the characters in the Bible comes to mind when you think of "dreams"? It was probably "Joseph" or "Daniel", because they not only dreamed (or "visions" to be exact) but were also experts in the interpretation of dreams, because their interpretation of dreams was correct, and none of them had dreams. Because there was nothing wrong, so if they could interpret the dream correctly, the dream was a kind of "prophecy" to them, and "God's will".
4. How do we know that Joseph was an expert on dreams?
There is a scene that tells us that Joseph was an expert on dreams from an early age. That's the nickname his brothers used for "Joseph" when he was 17. Because when they saw Joseph, they said, “The dreamer” (Genesis 37:19). However, in the Korean Bible, it is called "the dreamer", but in the original Hebrew text, it is "Baal hahaalomet". Literally translated, it is "the god (master, sovereign) of those dreams." Therefore, to translate this closer to Korean, he was a "dream expert" or "dream master". Therefore, there are some Bibles (Joint Translation, Catholic Bible, Easy Words Bible) that translate "dreamer" in Korean as "dreamer". However, I would say that the word dreamer is close to the original text in the meaning of the word dream expert, but since the word "dreamer" is a disrespectful one, "expert, master" would be a more correct expression. Then why did the older brothers call him "the god of dreams (master)"? Not only did he tell so much about the dream he had, he also shared and interpreted the dreams of his brothers, probably because the interpretations were mostly correct. Therefore, when Joseph heard the dream story of the cupbearer or the baker, he was able to interpret it immediately without delay. He was truly a dream expert.
5, What was the dream of the two servants of Pharaoh interpreted by Joseph, who was a dream expert?
Shortly after Joseph was thrown into prison, Joseph caught the eye of the chief of the jail and became the person in charge of the prison affairs. But after a while, two prisoners entered the prison. They had done something wrong with the king and had him put the king's prisoners in prison. Potiphar then sensed that touching them wrong could be fatal. So Potiphar gave them Joseph. So Joseph came to serve them, and one day he saw a look of concern on their faces. So, when I looked at Jachojijong, it was because of the dream the two of them had the night before. It was because they had almost the same dream, only the contents were different. It was a dream of three vines and a dream of three baskets. The first dream of the cupbearer was about a vine with three branches, and the branches of the three vines sprouted up and immediately began to bloom and bear fruit. Then the cupbearer took the juice from the grapes. I had a dream that I gave it to Pharaoh after pouring it into a cup. Then Joseph interpreted the dream that he would be restored to work in three days. And another one, contrary to this, explained that the chief baker would be hanged and die within three days, so birds would come and devour his flesh. Then it really happened. Joseph's interpretation of the dream was correct. Joseph was also a dream expert. If so, what was it that made him such an expert on dreams? It was because he was moved by the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God, to give all interpretations of the dream. We need people who have been moved by the Holy Spirit and have been filled with the Holy Spirit. Good luck.
